Year 10 please complete your homework by Thursday Oct 21st.

Your task is to sell your place- the London Borough of Camden!
You have been given a campaign by Camden Borough Council to design an advert that will go on trains around the country, the TV , the Internet or in foreign newspapers to encourage people to come to live in the borough. You firstly need to decided who your target audience will be. Possibilities are UK Students, the working population from other parts of the UK, or tourists coming to visit the UK, foreign migrants or parents wanting to relocate to give their children better educational opportunities.

You then need to decide if your advert is to go on a train, in a newspaper, Internet or on the TV.

Your task is to encourage the Target audience to move to Camden. You could use PowerPoint, publisher or movie maker. You might want to research other adverts

Enjoy your task and be creative- sell Camden!

Haverstock go to Overstrand

At the end of June 8 lucky Year 10's joined Miss Chadwick and Miss Scott at Overstrand in Norfolk for four days. They had the opportunity to learn about coastal management along the North Norfolk Coast, investigate how rivers change and see the impact tourism has had on the area. I am sure they will all agree that they learnt far more by visiting the area rather than being in the classroom.

There was plenty of time for relaxation and fun with games of aeroball, laser quest, archery, a leap of faith, a camp fire with pizza, riddles and dancing and even a (disappointing) England Match. Miss Scott and Miss Chadwick were a bit concerned about their ability to teach when Mark said he was looking forward to going back to England! Thanks Year 10's for making the trip so much fun! Look out for application letters for February's Morocco trip after work experience.

Similarities and Differences- The Swahili Coast- Tanzania

Habari Zenu? Mambo Vipi?

You have now started to look at your comparison region- The Swahili Coast in Tanzania. Throughout this unit you will need to compare the region to 'Your Place - Camden'. It is important that you look through the websites which we have suggested for you- Miss Chadwick will post them this week. Your first piece of coursework will also be based on the region and you will be asked to consider the impact tourism has had on the region.
To do well in this unit you must:
1. Know where the region is and its Characteristics (Economy, environment, population, history, landscape and climate)
2. Know why the region is at it is today
3. Identify the culture of the region
4. Know the links between the region and other countries, especially UK
5. Understand how and why the region is changing and what it might be like in the future.
6. Be able to identify the similarities and differences between the two regions.
